I created AJP Therapy because I believe that healing happens in a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood.  Here you will find honesty, positivity, and a down-to-earth experience from me. Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time—I value real conversations, genuine connection, and even a little humor along the way.

Anxiety

Anxiety often presents as excessive worry, stress and fear. You may experience feelings of irritability, agitation and often times fatigue and tension. You probably experience racing thoughts, and the feeling of being out-of-control.

Stress

Stress is the body's natural response to challenging and threatening circumstances, and will likely present both physically and emotionally. Stress will trigger the body's natural "fight or flight" response, preparing the body to respond. Chronic stress can have detrimental effects both physically and mentally if left untreated.

Self-esteem

Low self-esteem can be experienced in several ways. Negative self-talk, feeling as though you're not good enough, experiencing self-doubt, criticism, and blame. These feelings can be in regards to appearance, work life, home life, relationships and more.

Life Transitions

Life is full of changes, big and small, but sometimes no matter the change, it can be difficult to process it alone. If you've recently experienced a life transition (moving, starting a new job, ending a relationship, grieving a loss etc.) I encourage you to reach out and we can process it together.

Communication

You may find it difficult to express your needs, stand up for yourself, ask for what you want, and state boundaries. Therapy can help you to have the difficult conversations you've been avoiding, and improve confidence to do so.

Boundaries

Boundaries refer to the conceptual limit between you and another person or environment. Boundaries look like saying no, limiting contact, or managing time. Often times it is hard to implement boundaries due to fear of the response. Therapy can help you gain the confidence to communicate and implement boundaries.
